Got a job immediately after graduation

- Anton put his best foot forward and got the job.

During his three years at Praktiska, Anton Haga had two internships. The latest was at Hedin Bil in Gothenburg. Anton meshed quickly with his co-workers and was assigned to a supervisor at work with whom he got along well with.

At the beginning of his internship Anton had simpler responsibilities in the workplace, but as time passed he was assigned more difficult duties. In the end of the internship, Anton and his supervisor at Hedin Bil worked side by side, just like co-workers.
- Of course, I have been able to ask questions whenever I wanted to and my supervisor came to help me. But it feels like we were colleagues, even before I got my job.

Homework, tests and internship - how does it work?

Anton has, over the last two years, had practical experience Mondays through Wednesdays. He worked between 7am and 4pm on those days.
- It was tough to study on the days that I worked. It was like working a full day and then going home to do my homework.
Even if the education is practical, you have to, as a student, demonstrate what you have learnt. Some of the professional skills that are learnt in school are tested with "regular", written, tests. As for the practical parts, you have to practice until you can do it well. Your teacher assesses your skills and then assign grades in the course.
Even though it has been a tough internship with early mornings and late evenings for Anton, he finished his schooling with good grades.
- “It is important to achieve good grades because there are then opportunities if you want to do something else in the future, such as go on to university”, he says.

Job immediately after graduation.

Before Anton graduated from secondary school he was offered to continue his job at Hedin Bil.
- “Anton has really developed during his two years with us. He takes his work seriously, works well and is very helpful. We wanted to offer him a trial employment because he takes responsibility for his work” says Sven-Åke Braf, workshop manager at Hedin Bil.
